A Fresh Perspective for Your Valuations
I first moved to Whatcom County in 1997, to attend Western Washington University, and fell in love with the area. After a few years in the Seattle area, I moved back to Whatcom County, and have lived in Ferndale for the past 17 years. I am a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Business. My husband Kyle and I, and our two sons, live in Ferndale and are active members in our community.
As a Third generation Real Estate Appraiser, I grew up in an appraisal office. Property values, zoning, land use were, and still are, regular dinner conversation topics at family gatherings. I have an extensive background in property valuation, and a network of esteemed colleagues and family that have mentored and supported me for many years.
I served for 3 years on the Ferndale Parks, Recreation, and Trails Advisory Board, and chaired that Board for 2 years. I then served on the Ferndale Planning Commission for 3 years before serving on the City Council since 2016. I received my Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities, within my first year on City Council. I am currently the Ferndale Planning and Land Use Committee Chair. I am also the Council liaison to the Ferndale Planning Commission; Ferndale Parks, Recreation, and Trails advisory Board; and the Ferndale Arts Commission.
With 10 years experience in public service, I know the ins and outs of government processes and am ready to serve the County in a greater capacity, as the Whatcom County Assessor.
